The history of our Sunshine Coast dental practice
We opened our doors 10 years ago in Little Mountain and Beerwah under the name Toothkind, before coming under the new ownership of Dr. Frank and Dr. Shri in 2024 and rebranding to Your Family Dental. Though our name may have changed, our clinic continues our decade long tradition of providing high-quality dentistry, while also introducing modern treatments combined with a fresh approach.
The founders of Your Family Dental, Dr. Frank and Dr. Shri, are two dedicated dentists who share a deep commitment to family values and a genuine passion for dentistry. Having worked together for many years and having shared both professional and personal experiences, they decided to start a Sunshine Coast dental practice together.
Their goal was to create a welcoming environment where your family feels like their own. That goal has now been achieved in Your Family Dental – a reflection of their shared dreams, expertise, and heartfelt commitment to providing exceptional dental healthcare.

Dentist Dr. Shrikant Nair
Dr. Shri is a dedicated family dentist with a passion for both preventative care and cosmetic dentistry. With a gentle touch and a focus on long-term oral health, Dr. Shri ensures that every patient—from toddlers to grandparents—receives personalized care tailored to their needs. Whether it’s maintaining a healthy smile through routine check-ups, or enhancing it with the latest cosmetic treatments, Dr. Shri strives to make every visit a comfortable, positive experience. Your smile is our priority, and we’re here to help you achieve and maintain it for years to come!
Dentist Dr. Frank Hu
Dr. Frank graduated from studying dentistry at the University of Queensland in 2013. He worked in Queensland and New South Wales for many years before moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2018. His interests revolve around replacing missing teeth with implants to improve a person’s smile and chewing ability, and orthodontics to straighten teeth.

Scott graduated from the University of Queensland in 1988. After practising in Mt Isa for 15 years, he relocated to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in 2004. In the early years of his dental career, Dr Heather realised that anxiety was very common in dental patients. Wanting to provide the best possible outcome in the most gentle and effective way led Dr Heather to go on to further study two post-graduate diplomas at the University of Sydney.
Dr Heather has special interests in IV sedation, pain management, dental implants, orthodontics including Invisalign and full mouth rehabilitation.
Dr. Sophie Shi

Dr. Sophie Shi is a gentle and detail orientated dentist dedicated to creating comfortable, positive experiences where patients feel at ease. She is passionate about empowering patients with the knowledge and skills to understand their dental issues and take control of their future dental health.
Originally from Melbourne, Dr. Sophie studied in Victoria and graduated with two Provost’s Commendations and was awarded the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons Academic Prize in recognition of her dedication and clinical excellence.
Dr. Sophie enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with particular interests in preventative, cosmetic, and periodontal (gum) care.
She believes dentistry is not just about treating problems, but about helping patients achieve long-lasting oral health outcomes through personalised treatment plans tailored to each individual.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sophie enjoys staying active at the gym, unwinding with a good book and relaxing along the beaches.
Dr. Ian Lemmey

Dr Ian Lemmey is a General Dental Practitioner. He graduated from Adelaide University in 1980 and worked initially as a Dentist with the Royal Australian Navy. When he left the Navy in 1987, he commenced Private Practice in Sydney’s Macquarie Street and also consulted from a Branch practice in Mosman on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2006 and worked in Private Practice for many years.
Dr Ian has a strong professional commitment to Dentistry and is a fellow of a number of esteemed Professional Academies including the Academy of Dentistry International and the International College of Dentistry. He has also provided his professional services to many charities and volunteer organisations over the years, including the Spastic Centre of NSW and ToothAid, a charity which provides volunteer dental services to villagers in remote regions in Laos.
For several years, Dr Lemmey was a Senior Clinical Associate with the University of Sydney, tutoring Final Year Dental students at their Dental School.

Sasha is passionate about all areas of general dentistry and is
dedicated to creating a calm and supportive experience for every patient. She understands that
dental visits can sometimes feel overwhelming and strives to ensure patients feel comfortable
and well cared for.
Having grown up on the Sunshine Coast, she went on to earn her dental degree from the University of Queensland.
Outside of dentistry, Sasha enjoys expressing her creativity through the arts and making the most of the Sunshine Coast’s outdoor lifestyle.
Dr. Mona Sehgal

Dr Mona Sehgal is a female General Dentist who speaks French and Hindi (as well as English).Dr Sehgal graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from South Africa in 2000.Dr Mona Sehgal believes in minimal invasive dentistry; the focus is on providing high quality dental care to ensure that everyone is looked after properly and thoroughly. Dr Sehgal has been involved in all aspects of dentistry including conservative and restorative care, extractions, root canal therapy, crowns and bridges and dentures.
